Director, Graham County Community Foundation (FT 35-Hour/Week Minimum)

Job Description:

The Director of the Graham County Community Foundation (GCCF) is responsible for providing leadership and support to build a thriving community foundation. This involves developing relationships with individuals, groups, and entities to enhance community development and improve the quality of life in Graham County.

Responsibilities:

  • Market and promote the GCCF to increase funds and assets and enhance its visibility.
  • Engage in direct outreach with donors and organizations to educate them about the foundation and establish new funds.
  • Organize and oversee annual fundraising events/projects with support from the board.
  • Promote funding opportunities to individuals, businesses, and associations.
  • Develop cooperative efforts between the foundation and community organizations to achieve mutual goals.
  • Manage the daily operations of GCCF, including handling calls, correspondence, and project/funding requests.
  • Attending and preparing materials for GCCF board meetings.
  • Maintain and/or coordinate GCCF website and social media presence.
  • Coordinate and manage the Dane G. Hansen initiatives with board assistance.
  • Facilitate grants process, including applications, approval, and management.
  • Assist the board in setting and implementing long and short-term plans and goals.
  • Participate in regional and/or national training opportunities.
  • Recommend ways to improve philanthropy and increase community benefits.
  • Function as the spokesperson for the foundation and manage public relations contacts.
  • Attending city council and county commissioner meetings as requested.
  • Create and maintain a database to promote Graham County services, events, and activities.
  • Oversee the GCCF operating budget with board assistance.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to the Board of Directors and various committees.
  • Propose plans to address community needs while respecting donor wishes and legal requirements.
  • Oversee general operations of the foundation to achieve board-established goals.

    • Maintain donor database
    • Other goals as set by the board

Miscellaneous:

- A laptop computer and necessary office equipment provided by GCCF.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the community.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships and networks.
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license.
  • Technology proficiency including databases, Excel, and Word.
  • Donor engagement and fundraising skills preferred.
