The Rothenberger Scholarship Fund is made possible by the generous donation in memory of: ”Red” Roland D. Rothenberger, Class of 1954; Sharon Lou Ray Rothenberger, Class of 1957; and Barbara JoAnn Rothenberger, Class of 1948.
Geographic Limitations:
Students graduating from USD 392 – Osborne County Schools
Amount:
$1,250 Award (one or two awardees selected per year)
Criteria:
Must be planning to:
Attend Fort Hays State University (must be majoring in education), AND / OR
Attend Kansas State University (preference for majoring in engineering).
Must be enrolling full-time (min. 12 credit hours).
Renewals:
Recipients may reapply as part of the overall applicant pool up to three additional times for up to 4 years total with proof of enrollment at the designated university / major each year. Maximum renewal is $1,000 per year. Renewal is not guaranteed and based on available funds.
Deadline to Apply is April 1 end of day.

All applications must be completed online. Paper copies are not accepted.
Applicants will be required to complete an eligibility quiz at first logon to determine which scholarships they are eligible to apply.
Do NOT use your high school email address. The email address used in the application will be the primary contact method throughout college if you receive a scholarship award. If needed, create a personal email account in gmail, yahoo, etc. for permanent personal use.
Verify that your references are willing to provide a POSITIVE reference for you prior to listing them as a reference. You will need their email address to enter into the application.

Once you are awarded a scholarship, you must login to the scholarship portal to complete the required follow up steps. Before the first scholarship payment can be released, you must:
If your scholarship is for multiple semesters, at the end of each semester you will need to login to the scholarship portal to provide your current cumulative GPA and upcoming course schedule before the next scholarship payment can be released.
GNWKCF ensures each scholarship fund establishing documents are carefully followed. Students must meet the minimum scholarship criteria at the time of enrollment or the awarded scholarship will be forfeited.
Failure to complete the follow up steps may result in forfeit of your scholarship.
